The house and grounds of this estate cover several acres and are the results of years of careful attention to the design and construction of every detail. With ample space for both pedestrian and vehicular circulation, guests for parties or other events are easily accommodated.
A rear courtyard with a fountain – also serves as a parking court, and a drive through exit from the garage. The courtyard and back porch overlook the large southern lawn and is the perfect setting for outdoor gatherings. An orchard and a rose/vegetable garden anchor either side of the estate to provide a sustainable source of food for the owner.
The home, designed by famous Louisiana architect, Ken Tate, reflects a “low country” style. In working with the home layout, we created East/West and North/South axes that run through the house to focal points in the landscape.
Native pines and oaks are placed carefully to frame spectacular views while flowering trees and shrubs accentuate those views created with splashes of color. Native plant material is positioned in masses throughout the site in order to blend back into the site’s existing vegetation, while traditional Southern plants surround the areas immediately adjacent to the house.
